My Story
Dr. Bobby Hill
Bobby was born and raised in a solid Christian home in San Marcos, Texas. Due to the godly influence of his parents, he made a personal commitment to Christ in 1960. His personal character and biblical foundations are the outgrowth of the discipleship and consistent engagement with a local church. After enduring a near fatal kidney disease at 10 years old, Bobby developed a passionate search for spiritual growth and bible knowledge.
During his high school years he experienced a powerful encounter with the Holy Spirit resulting in a radical surrender to God’s call to ministry. His early leadership experience came from serving as a missionary in both Western and Eastern Europe. A pioneer at heart, he went on to plant three large churches in Texas prior to coming to Virginia to attend Regent University.
While living in Chesapeake, Virginia, Dr. Hill accepted the Senior Pastorate of New Life Christian Fellowship and led its growth from 150 to over 2,500 members in six years as they established six campuses.
His passion for leadership development has resulted in global initiatives and ministry in over 40 countries. With broad recognition as a conference speaker, trainer and executive coach Dr. Hill has consulted with church and nonprofit clients providing strategic and practical solutions to improve their organizational health. He serves as a mentor, coach and spiritual father for many leading pastors and ministry leaders. Dr. Hill received a MA in Practical Theology from Regent University and a Doctor of Education in Organizational Leadership with a concentration in nonprofit management from Nova Southeastern University.
Bobby served as Assistant Professor for the department of Biblical Studies and Christian Ministry at Regent University’s College of Arts and Sciences and the Interim Director of Campus Ministries and Chaplain for the premier Christian university in America. Today, he continues to equip students as an Adjunct Professor with Regent’s School of Divinity.
His success in starting and managing nonprofit organizations with budgets over $3 million and capital projects exceeding $7 million make Dr. Hill a popular speaker and consultant in many fields. He travels extensively, teaching, training, and consulting in organizations across the United States as well as more than 40 countries. His heart is to identify, train, and mobilize leaders to impact their world for Christ. He is currently serving as the Founder and International Director of Vanguard Ministries, which is a network of ministry leaders and churches. Also he is a Senior Consultant with The Hill Consulting Group that provides training, consulting, mentoring and coaching for churches and nonprofit organizations and their executives. He is broadly recognized as a seasoned leader with expertise in biblical studies, personal mastery subjects, organizational behavior, strategic leadership and global leadership studies. Bobby has authored numerous articles, book chapters and his first book is soon to be released.
